On July 1st, 2012, the communities of Hucknall, Papplewick and Linby were rocked when 15-year-old Harrison Carlin was killed whilst travelling to his friend's house on a bike.
As is often the case, out of the heart-breaking grief that followed, 'Put Things Right' was born. Initially, the organisation was formed by Harrison's two close friends Jack Chaplin and Corey Palin.
Jack and Corey continue to lead the organisation and now have a wider support network behind them to enable them to concentrate on what they do best - 'Putting things right'.
Further motivation for the organisation came weeks later when another local young person, Jeff Townley was killed only 1.5 miles from the spot that Harrison died.
If you require any further information on ‘Put Things Right’, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us and we'll do all we can to help.
We are indebted to Michelle & Jonathon who wanted a trophy to be awarded in memory of Harrison. As a result, we were delighted to be able to present the “The Harrison Carlin Memorial Award” each year to a member of our Under 16’s squads who typifies all that was good in Harrison’s very short life.
