Hucknall Sports are extremely proud to have Joe Worrall, current Nottingham Forest Football Club Captain, as their Club Ambassador.
Joe Worrall played for Hucknall Sports until he was 14 years old, before leaving to join Nottingham Forest Football Club. Joe rose through the ranks of the Nottingham Forest Academy, and captained the under 18s and Under 23s.
His first taste of Professional league football came when he went on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge and was thrown straight into the deep end playing Premier League Giants Everton the very next day in a third-round FA Cup tie. In 2017, Joe was called up to the England representative squad for the Toulon Tournament in which he went on to lift the trophy as Captain.
After returning from his loan experience, Joe was handed his first team debut aged just 19 years old, at home against Queens Park Rangers in English Football League Championship. During a period in which Nottingham Forest changed their managers regularly, Joe once again went out on loan to Scottish Giants Glasgow Rangers in which he played for his boyhood idol, Steven Gerrard. During this period, he gained invaluable experience at a huge club and was a mainstay in a defence that progressed in Europe and challenged for the Scottish title.
Following his season-long loan spell at Glasgow Rangers, he returned and became an integral part of the Nottingham Forest first team and in May 2022 after 23 years, achieved the long awaiting return to the Premier League in which he lifted the Championship Play-Off trophy in front of 1000s of supporters at Wembley , the day was even more special for Joe himself as he was cheered on in front of club president Derek Day and Chairman Alan Spray who are enormously proud of what the local youngster has achieved. He is now proudly Forest’s Club Captain playing an integral role in their Premiership journey.
Throughout his hectic football schedule, Joe continues to support his local grassroots club he holds close to his heart Hucknall Sports including attending annual Presentation events.
Everyone at the club wishes Joe all the very best with his career we follow with great pride!
